No new Titanfall games will come soon
Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order have kept Respawn Entertainment on the map in recent years, but Titanfall, the title that kicked off everything, has remained inactive. CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella has confirmed that the team is not currently working on a Titanfall game. Although Titanfall 3 won’t be there soon, seasoned fans will recognize that many aspects of Apex Legends are inspired by the mechanical shooter. Titanfall 2 is the most recent episode of the series and is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC now, having been included as a tribute to Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus in the past.
Speaking with IGN, said Vince Zampella, “at the moment there is nothing in development, but it is always there. See the bits of stuff that come back [through Apex Legends]. At some point, I would like to personally see some sort of resurrection there. We’ll see if I can make it happen. “While we are fans of Apex Legends, we are with Zampella in the hope of seeing a resurrection of the Titanfall franchise. According to Zampella, the relationship between EA and Respawn Entertainment is mostly practical and relaxed, which shows the trust of publishers in the developer.
Apparently Respawn Entertainment will have more to share during the next EA Play event, but it’s safe to say that the studio is working on the next Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order title. Apex Legends has just entered season 5, bringing with it a lot of new content and changes to the game’s map. “We have a group of people who love making games and love what they do.” said Vince Zampella speaking of the Respawn Entertainment team.
